Didn’t want to update until my favourite mods had come up to speed. I just updated to 1.44 a couple of days ago. Took me a while to set everything up including the mods. I’m experiencing massive lags and at least 1gb more memory usage after the 1.44 update. Using Promods 2.61 as well, but the game lags in the vanilla version also.

If you want to go faster, you have to disable the truck speed limiter under gameplay settings. But, 60 mph is like the fastest speed in vanilla ETS 2 that I've seen (I believe that's in the UK's motorways). There's not much reason to go above 60 mph unless you're pressing for time. #2. Obvs, the car limit is no good if your are in a truck. Need to select truck display but then, if you arent using limiter there is no need. As for expanding fast. If you are sticking to vanilla map and no mods, which I did for a couple of weeks and got bored and looked around for mods to improve (for me) the experience.
A monitor shows current speed limit. It might not be essential for ATS because navigators in ATS have a larger screen. But players who are playing ATS on a small display (like laptops') may find it helpful.
