Dual stick vs HOTAS / rudder. I took a couple of years off from Elite/SC and now that I’m back I’ve seen quite a few players advocating dual stick over HOTAS. From the post I’ve read it seems that most who argue for dual sticks do so because they feel it gives them a combat advantage over other players. My interests lie in exploration
E:D reads my dual T-16000Ms just fine. The TARGET software doesn't understand dual joystick input, so if you use TARGET, you have to use a script, not the GUI, but you don't need to use TARGET anymore. Have you tried outside of the Logitech software? Is the problem with Elite: Dangerous or Windows? (Can you see them both in Devices and Printers?)LEFT+RIGHT BTN - FSS honk. MIDDLE BTN - Exit mode. SCROLL WHEEL - Stepped zoom (DSS) For this to work without mapping conflicts, make sure your DSS is set to fire group 1. GitHub is where people build software. Started playing Elite over the last couple weeks, and love the game. Bought a T-Flight HOTAS 4 and am now trying to get the wife setup using my old (6 weeks old) Logitech Extreme 3d Pro. We went to setup the keybinds, and when we pushed up on the throttle lever to set “Increase Throttle”, nothing registered.
You can get away with a joystick and a keyboard for extra keys. You can even use that little throttle slide on the joystick's base. On a laptop I usually use only the joystick and the keyboard for extra controls. It is pretty playable, but not as immersive as a HOTAS. I use a Saitek X52pro HOTAS for this game.
